An app that let’s you create an event and then your group of friends, or open to public, gets to select a date for when it will happen.

• Can make it public or private
• You get an email and notification when your prediction is up and when all the predictions are up — did any of your group get it right?
• You can have Daily Prompts.
• You can get points for be the best predictor — “visionary”? but only on the Daily Prompts one? Or maybe any that have more than X number of participants AND is public?
• Limit of 5 years in advance
• You can put in a rule of say + or – X amount of time one way or the other or both [so maybe the closest within 1 week but not over etc]
• There’s a Leader Board

Not sure if you can create predictions where you can have a selection of choices, or only dates, but I think as long as there is a date to check all the predictions [like the Superbowl winner], then it would work well. The rule would be that you have to have X number of options, and no more than N. So two teams for the Superbowl, but maybe up to 20 options? So candidates for a poll or guess the next location of a show, etc..

Example:
You and your group of 4 other friends want to make predictions on when your friend John will propose to Jess. You each pick a date. None can be more than 5 years in the future. Everyone is logged into and has the app — FB login. Someone creates the event and adds the other members — you could make this public or private, but lets assume this should be private, so you add the members.  Now each of the 5 of you enter your date prediction — you do not get to see what the other have said until everyone is done or until the dates have passed — your choice.

So let’s say someone said 5 weeks, 2 months out, 2 months 2 weeks, 3 months, and 4 months. The app will email and notify you and everyone in the group when 5 weeks have passed — did you get it right? No, so you were wrong on that prediction, but you will get a notification when 2 months have passed because someone else guessed it. Let’s say that was right [or within the bounds your group placed]! So as long as the rest of the group agree, then that person gets the points, and the rest of the reminders would be cancelled and no points for them.

Daily:

You can make a Daily Prompt like who will win the SuperBowl, or when when the iPhone be released or flying cars will come about.

This would be cool to get public opinion. People love that in games, where you find out after you make a decision what the other players so far have decided and how their own choices matched up with others’ choices.

Could get sponsored Daily Prompts.

Also you can go vote on any Public Predictions that people have made, so maybe categories or areas?

You could make your profile public and then people could invite you to predict on their Public Predictions. So if someone has a really high rating as a Predictor/Visionary, you might want them to vote on yours?? But mainly you’re on the Leader Board!
