FOGE Space Program

I volunteered to help develop a lunar simulator game for this NASA summer camp. I worked with Paul Jeffrey who introduced me to the Torque 3D game engine for the project, and we then divided the game into two missions: landing on the moon followed by collecting specimens with a lunar rover. I programmed the latter using Torque and C++ and designed the interface for the landing mission.

These Lander controls allowed players to know what had been collected on previous missions, as well as how to control the thrust in order to land safely in a given amount of time. The time reflects the amount of fuel left to land. The cockpit was meant to be futuristic but bright and friendly since there was a range in the age of the intended players at camp.
