In order to make our presence at PAX stand out, I designed and developed a casual, mobile game marketed to the PAX audience as a time filler while waiting in lines. The game used features of the iOS to make it physically engaging, such as tracing with one’s finger, shaking the device, and using tilt controls for movement. Further, the game was immersive, making several references to PAX and the Becker booth as part of gameplay. I hired two students to develop the game with me, Adam DeZago as artist and Shaun Dutton as assistant programmer. I developed the application in objective C using Xcode and released the final product two weeks prior to PAX, with a 3 month development schedule.

Sales trends show that the game was purchased from all over the world and had over 200 sales within the PAX and prior period. We also recorded completion through recognition at the booth — besides the 5 star rating on iTunes, we received all positive feedback at the event in person as well. The game was also featured in a Boston news article.
